This article describes modifying the general settings for VETsurvey.
Site Settings (Pre 21.2)
Open the Site Settings page:
Highlight Misc on the Navigation menu to display the sub-menu.
Click the Site Settings menu item.
There are three sections with various settings:
- RTO Settings
These are used for reporting and should be completed.- RTO Name
- RTO Code
- Address field(s) as applicable.
- Site Settings
- Site Title - Enter the text to be displayed as the site title included in the header. This is only relevant if the Site Title branding option has been chosen.
- API URL and the username and password fields.
Applicable only to hosted clients with the Products API. Completing these fields allow some details, such as locations and staff members, to be imported from the VETtrak database for use with surveys. - Front Page - Enter the welcome text for the main screen of VETsurvey. HTML code is can be entered directly, or click the pencil.png icon to open the editor.
- Student Page - Applicable only to clients using VETtrak Student Portal, this text will be shown within the portal when a student views their surveys.
- Email Address - The 'From' address used for sending email. SPAM rules on your server must not prevent emails being sent to internal users from an internal address hosted on an external server. Test by sending a message to your own email address.
- Email Subject - The subject line used for emails sent via the Build URLs feature. Special variables are accepted.
- Email Body - The message used for emails sent via the Build URLs feature. HTML code and Special variables are accepted. Must include the *URL* special variable. Click the pencil.png icon to open the editor.
- Mail Server
- SMTP Server and related fields.
- These settings allow you to specify your mail server, which will be used to send emails from the VETsurvey Admin.
- Use the Test link to ensure the settings are working.
Once adjustments are complete:
Click the Save button.
Settings & Integrations (Version 21.2+)
Open the Settings & Integrations page:
- Click the Config icon () at the top right of the page.
- Click the Settings & Integrations option.
There are three tabs: Site, Mail and Integrations.
- Site
The customisable aspects of the VETsurvey font-end used by participants completing surveys.- Header Text
Enter the text to be displayed in the header. This is not relevant if the branding option for two images in the header was chosen. - Front Page
Enter the welcome text for the main screen of VETsurvey. HTML code can be entered directly, or click the edit icon () to open the editor.

Settings relating to email sent from VETsurvey.- Mail Server
Specify your mail server and credentials, to be used to send emails from the VETsurvey Admin. The connection can be tested. - Email Defaults
- Email Address

NOTE: If the Products API has been setup, proceed straight to Testing VETsurvey as the API will retrieve and populate lists from VETtrak instead, rather than needing to manually set them.
The Products API is available only to hosted customers by request.
