[DEPRECATED] Setting up the Moodle Plugin

 Warning

The VETtrak Moodle Integration has been refactored in the 20.4 update:
VETtrak and Moodle - Integration & Implementation

The VETtrak Moodle Plugin described in this article is no longer maintained or supported.

The VETtrak Moodle Plugin provides users with a tool to send VETtrak user accounts to Moodle. It can speed up user account creation within Moodle.

Note

This Plugin does not transfer any form of learning information (Courses/Units/Results) to Moodle or from VETtrak.

This will guide you through installing the plugin as a Moodle Administrator.  Please ensure that you have access (either FTP or local files) to the files where your Moodle is installed.

Obtaining the plugin

Obtain the VETtrak Authentication Plugin for Moodle ZIP file from VETtrak Pty Ltd. This can be obtained on the Downloads page in the Support Centre on VETtrak's website: https://supportcentre.vettrak.com.au/support-downloads/. (You must be logged in to access this page.)

Installing the plugin

You will need to have access to the server where Moodle is installed, and extract the contents of auth_vettrak.zip (a folder titled "vettrak") to the "auth" folder in your Moodle directory:

Activating the plugin

Log in to Moodle as an administrator, then head to the dashboard. Moodle will prompt you to update your database to include the new plugin.  Accept all of the options presented to you, and the rest of the process is taken care of automatically.

For more information about plugin installation and activation, please feel free to check out the official Moodle documentation for this version at
https://docs.moodle.org/30/en/Installing_plugins#Installing_a_plugin
