It is important that an experienced IT resource is available to manage this process.
Ensure that the .NET Framework version 4.8 is installed on the server machine. The .NET Framework can be downloaded from the Microsoft website.
Ensure that Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed on the server machine, along with the ASP.NET 4.8 components. At a minimum, the IIS Management Console and ASP.NET (4.8) components (which will automatically include its dependencies such as .NET Extensibility, ISAPI Extensions and ISAPI Filters) must be installed. Additional IIS features may be installed if desired, but are not required by the VETtrak Student Portal.
If your organisation runs Microsoft SharePoint, be aware that it makes changes to the IIS configuration that breaks compatibility with the portals. We recommend that a different server is chosen to run your portal instead in this case. While it might be possible to make the portals and SharePoint work together on the same IIS installation, we're unable to advise on settings changes, because any changes may break your SharePoint installation.
