When results are transferred from FinPa to VETtrak, there are rules governing how the unit result in VETtrak will be updated. All of these depend on the settings selected in the FinPa LMS Brand Configuration Wizard:
Units that have been started, but not completed, in FinPa
The following apply only if Record a result when unit started in LMS is ticked in the FinPa LMS Brand Configuration Wizard.
- The unit is given the result specified under Default result type when started for the state that the enrolment is located in, but this can be adjusted by the user while transferring the results
- The start date is set to the date the unit was started in FinPa. If the unit already has a start date in VETtrak, that date will only be changed if the start date in FinPa is earlier than the start date listed in VETtrak, and If unit starts in LMS before existing unit start date, change the start date is ticked in the FinPa LMS Brand Configuration Wizard.
- The finish date is set to the number of months after the start date that is set under Months in future to set unit end date when unit is started in LMS. If this date is beyond the enrolment’s end date, and If this date is beyond the enrolment end date, use the enrolment end date instead is ticked, the enrolment’s end date will be set instead. However, if the unit's existing end date in VETtrak is later than the calculated date, the end date will not be updated.
- The delivery strategy will be set to the one selected in the wizard, if applicable.
Units that have been completed in FinPa
The following apply only if Record a result when unit completed in LMS is ticked in the FinPa LMS Brand Configuration Wizard.
- The unit is given the result specified under Default result type when successful for the state that the enrolment is located in, but this can be adjusted by the user while transferring the results.
- The start date is set to the date the unit was started in FinPa. If the unit already has a start date in VETtrak, that date will only be changed if the start date in FinPa is earlier than the start date listed in VETtrak.
- The finish date is set to the date the unit was finished in FinPa.
- The delivery strategy will be set to the one selected in the wizard, if applicable.
Rules for overwriting existing results in VETtrak
- If the unit has no result, or a 'not started' result in VETtrak
- Updating to either a Started or a Completed result is allowed.
- Both start and finish dates can be updated.
- If the unit already has a started-type result in VETtrak:
- Updating to either another Started result or a Completed result is allowed.
- Start date will be updated if the start date from FinPa is before the existing start date.
- Finish date can be updated.
- If the unit has a completed-type result in VETtrak:
- These results will never be updated in this process.
- If the unit has a delivery strategy set in VETtrak.
- The delivery strategy will not be overwritten.
