Uploading and Downloading Files in the Trainer Portal

It is possible to upload and download files against units and tasks in the Trainer Portal. If you are also using the VETtrak Student Portal for your students, and you have enabled students to upload files, you can use this as a method of distributing learning materials to students and receiving completed assignments from them.

Uploading a File

To upload a file, click on the Actions link next to an individual task or unit, and select Upload a file.


The following window will open:



  1. Browse to the file you want to upload.
  2. This will be automatically filled in with the name of the file you are uploading. You can change this if required.
  3. Enter any relevant notes here.
  4. Tick this box if you want this file to be available to all students enrolled in this unit or task. If the file is for an individual student, leave the box unticked.
  5. Click Upload file.

Viewing and Downloading Uploaded Files

You can view and download any files previously uploaded against a task or unit. This includes files uploaded by yourself or by others, including completed assignments uploaded by students.

Click on the Actions link next to an individual task or unit, and select View files.

 

The following window will open:

 



  1. This tab shows files that are only visible to the individual student.
  2. This tab shows files that are visible to all students enrolled in the unit or task.
  3. A list of all previously uploaded files is displayed, including who uploaded each file.
  4. Items with this icon are files, which can be downloaded.
  5. Items with this icon are web links.
  6. Click the Actions button to view details or download the file.
  7. View details shows you more information about the file.
  8. Download this file opens a window to allow you to open or save the file.
  9. You can also upload a new file from this window, or
  10. Click this button to add a web link to the unit or task.
