VETtrak has the capacity to import Training Packages directly into your database from TGA. This will import all of the units that are contained within that Training Package, and is up to date as of the time you import. You can then create or import a Qualification or Course to make use of these units.
Using TRAINING.GOV.AU to identify which units are part of what Training Package can better clarify which Training Package you may require.
It will be necessary to import the latest Training Packages to begin setting up your qualifications. Further, if updates or new training packages become available, these would also need to be imported via this same process.
Importing Training Packages from TGA
From the Qualifications Manager, right-click Training Packages and choose Import/Update packages from TGA from the menu:
This will open the Import Packages from TGA Wizard:
The Package List will immediately update with a list of Training Packages retrieved from TRAINING.GOV.AU.
- The Import column indicates which package is to be imported, by ticking the box
- Code reflects the Training Package code
- The Package Name displays the full Training Package Name
- Status will show details relating to whether the Package is considered Current/Non-Current
- Last Updated displays the recorded date this the Training Package was updated, according to TRAINING.GOV.AU
Note: Within this area you can use the Column Headings to search/sort the returned details - such as the ability to search the Training Packages based off Name or Code, this can be used to efficiently find the Training Package you are after:
Tick the checkboxes in the Import column for each desired package:
Click Import/Update selected packages:
Information on the package, number of units and total inserted will be indicated as the import progresses.
A dialog box will be displayed on completion showing the total number of packages successfully imported. Click Ok to dismiss the message and close the Import Wizard.
Your Training Package and it's contained units will now be available within your VETtrak database.
Updating Training a Package
Updating a Training Package within VETtrak is performed via the same method as Importing a Training Package.
Right-click Training Packages and choose Import/Update packages from TGA from the menu:
This will open the Import Packages from TGA Wizard:
Tick the checkboxes in the Import column for each package that requires to be Updated.
The Last Updated column can be used to great effect to assess how recent the Package Information may be:
The Import process will Update the existing package, adding missing information where appropriate to make sure the selected Training Package is current:
