AVETMISS Error - "Program Identifier (XXXXXXXX) must be a valid qualification, course or skill set code listed on Training.gov.au"

Error Details

NAT FileError CodeError Description
NAT000304726
Program Identifier (XXXXXXXX) must be a valid qualification, course or skill set code listed on Training.gov.au

Explanation

This error indicates that you are reporting a subject-only enrolment with a course/qualification selected on the first page of the Enrolment Wizard. You may have set up a course with a name similar to the unit.

As of the AVETMISS 8 standard, this is no longer accepted. You cannot have a subject-only enrolment reported with a course/qualification as it falsely represents that the client intends to complete a full qualification, rather than just a unit of competency on its own.

Solution

To amend this, navigate to Manage > Qualifications, expand Course Based > Courses, locate the course, expand this course and expand the enrolments heading:

Next, right-click on an enrolment in this list and select Edit Enrolment:

You will need to Remove the Associated Course by pressing the Clear button above the right-hand side of the field:

This terminates the relationship between the enrolment and the incorrectly created course.

Once this has been done for all the relevant enrolments, you will need to take steps to change the course so it no longer is considered a VET-based course.

To do this, right-click on the Course itself and select Edit course:

Within the Course wizard, untick the following boxes to indicate that this is not a VET course, nor officially listed on http://training.gov.au/:

Alternatively, you can check the Report enrolment as subject-only check box found on the second page of the Qualification/Course Wizard. This allows you to populate the qualification/course field on the first page of the Enrolment Wizard and prevent the qualification/course specific details from being included in the NAT00030 and NAT00120 files when generated. This feature was introduced in VETtrak 23.3.

If you are unsure whether something is a Subject or Program you can always check the TGA website for its full information: https://training.gov.au/

To avoid errors like this in future, we advise that you enrol your clients in subject-only enrolment correctly, via this process:
