Managing content for a LLN Quiz (sections and questions)

The LLN Quizzes feature is accessed from the Configuration page (), via the link under Step Creation.

Content for the quiz is managed in sections. A single section can be used to hold all questions, or the questions can be split into multiple sections. Sections can be used to add headings into the content or to provide instructions or background information for the associated questions, for example: a case study, chart, or timetable.

The LLN Quizzes list is used to manage the content. To begin creating, or edit existing content for your LLN:

• Click the link (number) in the Sections column for the LLN.

Hint: Preview your LLN first so you can swap tabs to see content as you go! Simply refresh the Preview tab to see your latest changes.

The Sections page for the LLN will open, where new sections can be added and existing sections can be managed (if any).

Key elements of the Sections page:

• The Back button — return to the LLN Quizzes page.
• Section — create and modify section content.
  • New — clear existing Content so a new section can be created.
  • Save — commit changes made to Content for a section.
• Sections List — manage existing sections for the LLN.

To create a new Section:

1. Enter the text (or HTML) for the section.

   Type plain text or html directly into the field. Alternatively, click to open the Editor, where text can be entered and formatted, then click Apply and the resulting html will be inserted into the field.

   If resources were uploaded and need to be included in this section, HTML is required. Reference the file, depending on its type, as an image or a link.

2. Click the Save button.

Repeat these steps to create additional sections, if required, or continue on to set the questions.

Once created, sections appear in the list:

• Section ( with the start of the section content)
  This link allows the section to be modified. The content for the section will appear in the Section area for editing.
• Q&A ( with total number of questions in the section)
  The link opens the Questions page for creating and managing questions for the section.
• The move up and move down links
  These links provide control over the order of the section. The order set here determines the display order for the user. Note: Move up will be disabled for the first entry as will move down for the last entry in the list.
• The delete link
  Clicking this link will permanently remove the section and all associated questions.

To create and manage questions for a section:

• Click the link (number) in the Q&A column for the section.

This will open the Questions page for the LLN.

Key elements of the LLN Questions page:

• The Back button — return to the Sections page for the LLN.
• Question section — create and modify questions for the section.
• Questions List — manage existing questions.

To create a new question for the section:

1. Type the Question in the field provided.

   Type plain text or html directly into the field. Alternatively, click to open the Editor, where text can be entered and formatted, then click Apply and the resulting html will be inserted into the field.

2. Enter the Answer to the question posed in the previous step.
3. Specify the size in Rows (or lines) for the answer field. Defaults to 3 if left blank.
4. Click the Save button.

Repeat steps 1 to 4 for as many questions as apply to the section. Each saved question will appear in the Questions list.

The list allows existing questions to be managed:

• Question ( with the start of the section content)
  This link allows the question to be modified. The Question area will be prefilled with the question details for editing.
• Answer
  This is the answer text set for the question. The answer only displays for VETenrol Admin in the Registration Details of VETenrol Admin with the completed LLN.
• The move up and move down links
  These links provide control over the question ordering. The order set here determines the display order for the user. Note: Move up will be disabled for the first entry as will move down for the last entry in the list.
• The delete link
  Clicking this link will permanently remove the question.
