Staff types

Staff types allows you to specify the types of staff that you want to assign to an enrolment or contract of training, for example: Trainer, Assessor, Field Officer, etc.

Open the Configuration Manager by choosing Manage > Configuration from the menu. The Configuration Manager displays an alphabetically ordered explorer tree.

 

Adding a new staff type

  • Right-click Staff types and choose Add new staff type.

This will open the Staff Type Wizard:

  • Enter a Name for the staff type.
  • Optionally, enter a Code for the staff type.
  • This staff type is inactive indicates if the staff type should be archived. If ticked, the staff type will be added/moved to the Archived staff types branch.
  • Staff type must satisfy credential rules will flag this staff type to make use of the Staff Credentials feature of VETtrak. For details on this feature, see our Staff Credentials article.
  • Optionally, provide a Description for the staff type.
  • Click Next and then Finish.

 

Editing an existing staff type

  • Expand Staff types.
  • Right-click the staff type and choose Edit staff type.

This will open the Staff type Wizard, where you can make changes.

 

Deleting a staff type

  • Expand Staff types.
  • Right-click the staff type and choose Delete staff type.
  • Click Yes when asked to confirm the delete.

If an error occurs, the Staff type has likely been used previously and is included in historical data. In this case, you will need to archive the code to remove it from active use.

 

Viewing the staff type report

This report details all the staff types, including those that have been archived.

  • Right-click Staff types and choose Show staff type report.

The report will be displayed in a new tab/window.
