AVETMISS FAQ & Errors - Western Australia

FAQ

  • What is the name of the AVETMISS Reporting Body for Western Australia?
Department of Training & Workforce Development (DTWD)
  • How are AVETMISS files reported to DTWD?
AVETMISS files cannot be generated in VETtrak for WA-based enrolments. Instead, two separate files are generated, the Enrolment Export and the Student Export. These files are uploaded to the Training Allocation Management System (TAMS) RTO Portal.
  • Where can I find more information about Western Australian TAMS reporting requirements?
Review the TAMS text file specifications document found under the General Information section of the Policy, fees, payments and pricing page of the DTWD website.
The TAMS Specifications list a unique set of Outcomes. How do I report these in VETtrak?
When generating your Enrolment Files, VETtrak will convert the National Outcome Codes to their WA equivalents. This mapping can be found in the following article:
    WA: Result Mapping Information
  • What is an Intake Number?
An Intake Number is a mandatory, administrative field that is used to group students. While this field is reported in your Enrolment Text File, it is at the discretion of your Organisation how this field groups students.
  • How do I contact DTWD?
DTWD can be contacted at 08 6551 5000. Their contact details are listed at:

Errors/Warnings

Error
Error/Warning MessageSolution
ADDRSU-2
Residential Address – Town or Suburb is not a valid Town, Suburb or Locality listed on the Australia Post website
This error likely indicates that the Client's Residential Address doesn't match up with the postcode information listed on the Australia Post Website.

Suburbs with incorrect postcodes can be amended typically by using the Update AVETMISS Fields function or, if necessary, Manually editing the Suburbs through the Configuration Manager.

Once the Suburbs have been corrected, you'll need to manually adjust the Client's Residential Address. This can be adjusted in the Client Personal Wizard, on the Address step.
