Importing Training Packages (Legacy)

VETtrak has the capacity to import Training Packages directly into the database. This will import all of the units that are contained within that Training Package, and is up to date as of the time you import. You can then create a Qualification or Course to make use of these units.

You can use a website resource such as http://training.gov.au/Home/Tga to identify which units are part of what Training Package, to better clarify which Training Package you require.

It will be necessary to import the latest Training Packages to begin setting up your qualifications. Further, if updates or new training packages become available, these would also need to be imported.

There are two ways to import training packages in VETtrak:

1. Import the files directly from VETtrak's website. This will require an Internet connection and will allow multiple packages to be imported at once.
2. Import from files already downloaded and stored locally. This should only be used if an Internet connection is not available. Only a single package can be imported at a time. You will need to send an email to support@vettrak.io request we send the Training Package Import File to you.

Both methods are described below.

NOTE: Once training package(s) are imported it is still necessary to construct the Qualification, however the Units in Package branch will be pre-populated with all of the applicable units of competency.

Importing packages online

From the Qualifications Manager, right-click Training Packages and choose Import/Update packages online from the menu.

This will open the XML Import Package Wizard:

• Click the Load package list button
• Tick the checkboxes in the Import column for each desired package.
• Click Import/Update selected packages.

You can use a website resource such as http://training.gov.au/Home/Tga to identify which units are part of what Training Package, to better clarify which Training Package you may require.

Information on the package, number of units and total inserted will be indicated as the import progresses.

A dialog will be displayed on completion showing the total number of packages successfully imported. Click Ok to dismiss the message and close the Import Wizard.

Importing from a file

If you are unable to Import Packages Online, you will need to instead load from a Local File. To do this, you will first need to send an email to support@vettrak.io request we send the Training Package Import File to you. Save this file to your computer in preparation for the next step.

You can then navigate to the Qualifications Manager, right-click Training Packages and choose Import/Update packages from local file from the menu.

You will be prompted to confirm you want to proceed, click Yes to open the Wizard Import Package:

• Click the  icon to browse for the file provided via email.
• Click the Read Package In button to obtain the details of the package.
• Click the Import/Update Package button to begin the import.
