Saving a Custom Report File (Local Installation)

VETtrak utilises specific '.FR3' files for it's Custom Report functionality - these files are created by the VETtrak Support Team and provided to you via email.

Saving the file into the Custom Reports Explorer in VETtrak

Saving a New Report File

Open VETtrak, click the Report menu and select Custom Reports. If you have a desired folder to store this file in navigate to that folder using the folder tree down the left hand side.

If you don't yet have a folder to store your FR3 report files in, you can create a new folder for this purpose. We would suggest creating the folder in a location on your network that all VETtrak users have access to such as a server or shared folder. You can give the folder a name of your choosing like 'Reports' and any custom report files you have sent to you can be stored in this new folder.

Copy the file attachment from your email and when in the VETtrak Custom Reports Explorer, on your keyboard press CTRL + V to paste the file into the folder.

The file can now be run through this custom reports explorer by double-clicking on the file.

NOTE:
If the file is designed to be run through a menu item in VETtrak you cannot run it through the custom reports explorer, it will need to be mapped and run through the appropriate menu item. More information on mapping a report can be found in the Report Mapping article.

Saving an Updated Report File

Open VETtrak, click the Report menu and select Custom Reports. Navigate to your existing report file using the folder tree down the left hand side.

On your keyboard press CTRL + V to paste the file into the folder. You should see a prompt asking what you want to do with the new file, choose Replace the file in the destination.

This will replace the old version of the report, leaving the updated one ready to use.
