VETtrak AVETMISS Reporting Overrides

Added in VETtrak version 24.2, users are now visibly shown when a substituted entry appears within their NAT files.

Within VETtrak, sometimes an entered outcome will need to be replaced for reporting purposes. This is only only ever done to ensure you can complete your reporting requirements without needing to amend data that is considered correct from an administrative point of view. When VETtrak performs this action, it will display the item as an Override within your AVETMISS wizard.

An Override will appear as an orange [Over] entry in the Status column when performing an AVETMISS generation:

Clicking on the orange Status item will expand a window, providing an explanation of what has occurred, and why the  has occurred:

In the above example, an AVETMISS generation has been completed for the state of Victoria, within the period of Quarter 1, 2023. The selected student has since completed their studies, and have been marked as Competent (20).

  • However, the student was marked Competent in April, with the reporting period generated (Quarter 1) finishing in March.
  • VETtrak understands that the student finished in the future, and will instead perform an Override to substitute the unit result from Competent (20) to Continuing (70), avoiding an AVETMISS error upon Validation.

Another example:

  • Performing a New South Wales AVETMISS Generation for Quarter 1, 2024, the above unit was previously marked with a Continuing (70) result, while starting in the future. VETtrak has caught this error, and substituted the result to a Not Yet Started result, as the Start Date was set in the Future.
  • As the above generation took place between January & March, the 1st of June doesn't meet the criteria, so the above override will avoid an error with the Smart & Skilled Reporting body.
