Post Payment Push

Post-payment push is a VETenrol feature designed to retrieve payment from the applicant prior to completing their enrolment registration.

Post-Payment Push ensures that users who abandon the registration process at the payment step do not fill an occurrence vacancy that another paying student could make use of. It also ensures unpaid users do not receive a confirmation email saying their registration has been received, and the RTO does not need to manage unpaid registrations.

This feature is intended to reduce the administrative work for the RTO for tasks such as:

  • Managing unpaid registrations
  • Following up payments
  • Fielding enquiries
  • Cancelling enrolments to free up vacancies
This feature is appropriate for courses where registrations are expected to be staggered over time. This feature may not be appropriate for courses where large volumes of registrations are expected in a very short time frame due to the way this affects occurrence vacancies.

Post-payment push alters the behaviour of the Standard Registration Process.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Standard Registration Behaviour

The registration's web enrolment is created in VETtrak before the user is transferred to the secure server to complete the Credit Card Payment step. This means the web enrolment exists to reserve a vacancy while the user makes their payment, and other users will be prevented from proceeding to the payment step if that reservation caused the occurrence to become full.

Post Payment Push Registration Behaviour

The registration's web enrolment is created in VETtrak after the user is transferred to the secure payment server and completes the payment step. No web enrolment exists before payment and therefore the vacancy is not yet filled, other users can continue to proceed to the payment step during this time, as such, the course may become full while the applicants are at the payment step and the occurrence can become overbooked. The web enrolment is created after the payment is received and the registration form has been completed.

Note that if the user chooses the “invoice me” payment option the payment step is skipped in the registration form and an invoice is created in VETtrak.

FAQ

  • What happens to registrations that are completed when the occurrence is full?
The student will receive a message to indicate that the course has been filled since they started the registration process. They will not receive a registration confirmation email.

A registration record will appear in VETenrol however if the registration did not fully complete you can see this by checking whether the Receipt # is blank. Check the registration details for the Web Enrol ID and if it is 0 that indicates the registration was not pushed to VETtrak as a web enrolment.
